Updated Peer Exchange Information!

MQA Peer Exchange Chair Jennifer Brandenburg provided this ppt update at the AASHTO SCOM Meeting in Monterey in July.

The Planning Committee invited private sector contractors and consultants to attend the Peer Exchange. We value the participation of these partners.

The 2008 Peer Exchange featured an MQA Showcase for each state and sponsoring representative organization to display their current materials.

The 1st National MQA Peer Exchange was held in October 2004 in Madison, Wisconsin
• At this meeting 35 states and two Canadian provinces were represented
• Participants:
1. Worked together to foster a better understanding of MQA programs and practices
2. Articulated a national agenda and next steps for MQA programs
3. Developed a report on the synthesis of consistently-used maintenance measures, and
4. Submitted rating sheets, field manuals, state reports and other documents to create an on-line library of MQA resources.

• 1 ½ day MQA Peer exchange took place on September 23 and 24, 2008, immediately preceding the National Workshop on Highway Asset Inventory and Data Collection with Equipment Showcase on September 24 to 26, 2008.
• The goals for the 2nd National peer exchange were:
1. To discuss analysis procedures and reporting to support decision-making
2. To identify progress on consistently-used measures
3. To update our national agenda and next steps for MQA programs
4. To prepare a glossary of commonly used terms for the concepts that guide MQA data collection and analysis, and
5. To update the MQA document library,

• The Planning Group for the 2nd National MQA Peer Exchange included representatives from Missouri, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina,, Washington State, and Wisconsin DOTs as well as FHWA and TRB. They developed an exciting agenda including case studies and best practices of MQA Programs.
• FHWA’s Office of Asset Management has generously committed $30,000 to sponsor the event. Their participation helps us ensure broad national visibility.
