Greg began work as the program manger for the Wisconsin Highway Research Program in August of 2004. In this position, he is responsible for coordinating contracted research activities between WisDOT and researchers affiliated with both universities and private consultants. Although managing the WHRP is his primary responsibility, Greg also serves as the research manager for the Midwestern Regional University Transportation Center and gets involved in outreach activities as well.
Prior to moving to Wisconsin in the summer of 2004, Greg worked as a transportation planner for the Federal Highway Administration for three years in both their New York and Minnesota Division Offices. While there, he managed bicycle and pedestrian programs, had oversight responsibilities for the Minnesota State Transportation Improvement Program, wrote a technical reference document in the area of Highway Performance Monitoring System that is currently posted on the FHWA website and developed a one-day course in Context Sensitive Design/Solutions, while working closely with the University of Rhode Island Transportation Center.
After serving for eight years in the US Navy as a nuclear power plant operator, Greg attended Middle Tennessee State University, where he graduated cum laude with a degree in science. Greg then received his Master’s of Science in Planning from the University of Tennessee with an emphasis in transportation planning.
Greg and his wife Angie, who is originally from Madison, recently bought a house in Evansville. Greg enjoys playing racquetball, shooting pool and watching the Tennessee Volunteers play football – GO VOLS!!
